Leeds Panto a Huge Success

Snow White with some children

Snow White with some children

Families in Leeds enjoyed a fun afternoon at the Panto in Leeds with Cerebra Regional Officer Lynne Bowker.

Tickets for a relaxed performance of family favourite Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds were offered to Cerebra members free of charge and a good time was had by all.

The great thing about the show being a relaxed performance was that it meant a safe environment was created for children, many of them with conditions such as autism.

Over 65 parents and children with the Cerebra party descended upon the theatre where they were entertained by Muddles, Snow Whites faithful friend.

They also took part in lots of singing fun and games and an added excitement of the Forest Fairy and her acrobatics!

All of the families had a fantastic time and they even got the chance to meet some cast members after the performance.

The wicked stepmother had made an appearance before the show so that the children could check her out and see that she was really not that wicked!

For some of the families it was their very first visit to a pantomime and they all enjoyed seeing the children having so much fun.

One family who attended said: “I would usually shy away from public shows as I can’t always rely on Sam’s behaviour. It was great he could boo the badies and hurrah the goodies, he really let himself go! I will certainly be taking him to one next year.

Thank you ever so much it was a lovely family day out.”

“Many thanks for organising today. Our children couldn’t have loved it any more and it made such a difference attending a relaxed performance and not worrying about Ben screaming with excitement!”

Another family said: “The kids had a great time, Ben loved the snow and Jodi was even up and dancing at the end which is unheard of! It was great to see her really enjoying something for a change and that truly was the best Christmas present I could have asked for. I would never have taken them to the theatre before today, mainly hindered by my fears of her walking out before it even started or being overwhelmed by the noise and the people there but as soon as she saw someone else wearing ear defenders she relaxed!

You really have no idea just how special today was to us as a family and we thank you and all at Cerebra that made this possible.”
